Psycho Movie: Bates House

One of my all time favorite old horror movies is Psycho.  Here is a bit a trivia I just recently learned about the famous Bates house in the movie.

It was modeled after an oil painting located at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.  The painting is called "House by the Railroad" which was painted in 1925 by American artist Edward Hopper.  You can definitely see the resemblance of the movie house to the original painting.

I love how this movie has caused numerous generations of people to be afraid to shower when alone in the house.  My daughter who has developed a love of horror movies still refused to watch Psycho.  Fears she would never be able to take a shower when no one else is home.
